About
Hi and welcome to the How to Auction About Us section.
My name is Ben Braide and running a successful eBay store since 2005 has given me great insight of what to do and what not to do when selling products online.

But I wouldn’t have been able to get my online business store working as well as it has without the right guides, mentors and tools.
There are so many learning curves with eBay and as eBay consistently makes small changes to their practices, you have to keep up with what affects selling on eBay operations.
How to Auction is a site dedicated to helping eBay sellers around the globe find the right information to help with their eBay selling… the first time round. Unfortunately there are some misleading guides available for purchase on the internet.
I recommend you check out my reviews of the Best eBay Selling Guides and the Best eBay Sellers Tools. I personally have read hundreds of guides and used hundreds of tools and these are my top picks.
When you first start selling on eBay there are so many things to learn and it can truly be a daunting task trying to deal with all of the information. Some of the things you learn on eBay cannot simply be taught, rather you have to experience a situation before you know how to deal with it.
But being prepared and learning as you go is the easiest path to success. I can tell you it’s a whole lot easier than waiting till you think you have learnt everything before starting an eBay store.
Reputation
Reputation is number one when building an eBay business long term and a great reputation will form a solid back bone that could literally be worth millions.
Just think about the times you have purchased an item on eBay and before you buy, habitually you probably check the sellers feedback. Well that same occurrence is happening to your own listings on eBay and I can guarantee people are checking out your feedback!
A bad reputation will cost you many sales and will affect the core of your eBay business operations. If a customer leaves negative feedback (which is totally avoidable unless you get one of the 0.1% of customers that are just plain flipmode
then future potential buyers will most likely read the feedback.
If your feedback gets below 90% positive then you may as well start a new account or sell alot of items at bargain prices (and offer only positive feedback service) to build your reputation up.
A great reputation will build your eBay store into a solid and even sellable business. That’s right, at the right point in the future, you can sell your ebay business for 3 – 5 times what the annual yearly turnover is.
It all depends on how automated your eBay business is, how the overall feedback of your account is and you guessed it.. Your reputation.
Make sure you read my Top Rated Selling on eBay Guide Reviews and read the tips and articles I have written down the left hand side column. I especially recommend Sky High Auctions as a comprehensive training course. The videos and information presented are brilliant and will teach you the real powersellers secrets.
Wishing you great success with your eBay endeavors,
Ben Braide
